Find quick answers to common questions about therapy, supervision, scheduling, and getting started.
I serve clients in Virginia and Washington DC.
I offer telehealth sessions on a secure platform that is HIPPA compliant.
I offer 15-25 mintues free consultation to go over your concerns and answer questions to determinate if we are a good fit before moving forward with starting a treatment.
Finding a therapist you really feel strongly connected with is the foundation of any good therapy. It typically takes about 3 sessions to determine if it’s a good match.
Get comfy in a private space. If possible, it can be useful to take your session in a different area from where you work. Have water and tissues at hand, maybe even a notebook if there’s something we discuss that you feel compelled to jot down. I also strongly encourage you to put your phone on do not disturb mode, so you can stay as present as possible.
I accept most major insurance plans. When you call, I can take your insurance information and look into what you can expect to pay each session. It can be helpful for you to contact your insurance company to learn the details of your plan.
I am in-network with the following insurance plans:
⦁ Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield
⦁ Blue Cross/Bule Shield/CareFirst
⦁ Georgetown University Student Health Insurance
⦁ Government Employees Health Association (GEHA)
⦁ OptumHealth
⦁ Surest
⦁ United Medical Resources (UMR)
⦁ UnitedHealthcare (UHC/UBH)
For out of network clients:
I will provide you with a Superbill. A superbill is an invoice that can be used to file a claim for potential insurance reimbursement. At the end of each month, you’ll receive a document that has my provider information, the dates and rates of services, a code that tells your insurance company what type of services you received, and a diagnostic code that tells your insurance company what you received services for. In order to provide a superbill, I have to offer a diagnostic impression, which can and should be an open conversation in our sessions.
Please contact me directly to discuss rates.
If you’re unable to make it to a session, you must cancel at least 48 hours in advance. If you cancel with less than 48-hours notice, you will be responsible for the full cost of the session. I understand life/emergencies happen and am as flexible as possible to accommodate for this.
I do not prescribe medication. You would need to contact your primary care doctor or a psychiatrist for medication purposes.
You don’t have to have everything figured out. If you’re ready to start, send a quick inquiry and we’ll take it from there.
